Reputation monitoring software that sees risk before it spreads

Reputation monitoring software watches public sources for what people say about your company and warns you when something could hurt it. MentionRadar tracks review sites, Reddit, forums, news, X and AI answers, scores every mention and alerts you to negative or high reach items.

  • Negative and high reach mentions flagged
  • Review sites, Reddit, news and X in one feed
  • What ChatGPT and Perplexity say about you
  • Instant email alerts, Slack on Growth

Monitoring is the warning, management is the response

The two words are used interchangeably, but they describe different work. Knowing which one you are buying saves a lot of disappointment.

MentionRadar monitors and alerts. It does not post replies, does not log into your review profiles and does not ask anyone to take content down. That is deliberate: monitoring needs no access to your accounts, and the people who answer customers should be your people, writing in your voice.

What the software gives the response team is time and context. Each item arrives with its source, link, reach and sentiment, and you can flag it, mark it as reviewed and correct its sentiment if the score is wrong. Agencies that run the response for clients use separate workspaces on the plan built for agencies.

Where reputations are actually decided

Review sites

A buyer reads three reviews before a demo request. A single detailed one star review about support is read far more often than ten short five star ones. Reviews are scored like any other mention, and a negative one can trigger an instant alert.

Reddit and forums

Threads such as "is this tool still worth it" rank in search for years and are a common source for AI answers. They start small, so catching them within the first hours is the difference between a helpful reply and an archived complaint. The Reddit monitoring tool page covers this source in depth.

News, X and video

An outage story or a critical analyst thread reaches more people in a day than a forum thread does in a year. Here reach matters more than tone, so High reach items are worth an alert even when they are neutral.

AI answers are now a reputation surface

When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity "is Lumen CRM reliable", the engine writes a short verdict built from the pages it reads: review sites, Reddit threads, news. A complaint that was resolved months ago can still be repeated there, phrased as current fact, with no thread to reply to.

MentionRadar runs your tracked prompts weekly in the AI engines on your plan and records whether you are named, in which position, whether you are recommended, which competitors appear and, on Growth and higher, which pages were cited. If a negative source is shaping the answer, you see its address and can work on the source itself.

Prompts about trust, reliability and alternatives are the ones to track for reputation. The AI visibility tracker explains how prompts are chosen and scored.

ChatGPT

“is Lumen CRM reliable for a 50 person sales team”

Lumen CRM is generally well rated for ease of use. Some users mention an outage earlier this year and slow support responses, so teams that need guaranteed uptime often compare it with two larger vendors.

Reading the sentiment trend instead of single items

A risk queue tells you what to look at today. The trend tells you whether the reputation is actually changing. One angry review is noise. Negative mentions tripling in a week, as in week 3 of this chart, is a signal that something real happened.

The trend also shows recovery. If the share of negative mentions returns to its usual level two weeks after a fix, the response worked. If it settles higher, the story has become part of how people describe you, and it will start appearing in AI answers too.

The sentiment index puts this in one number: positive minus negative mentions, divided by all mentions, times 100. How each mention is scored is explained on the page about social sentiment tracking.

Questions about reputation monitoring software

What is the difference between reputation monitoring and reputation management?

Monitoring tells you what is being said and when it needs attention. Management is what you do next: replying, fixing the underlying problem, publishing your side, asking for corrections. MentionRadar does the monitoring and alerting, and your team or agency handles the response in the channels where the conversation happens.

Can MentionRadar remove negative reviews or posts?

No. MentionRadar does not post replies, does not contact platforms and does not remove content. Be careful with any service that promises removal of honest reviews. What monitoring gives you is time: you see the item early, while a reply or a fix still changes how it is read.

Which review sites and communities are monitored?

Review sites, Reddit, Hacker News, forums, blogs, news sites, YouTube and X are searched for your keywords. Each mention shows its source and original link, so you can check coverage for your own category in the first scan from the homepage.

Why do AI answers matter for reputation?

Buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews which product to choose, and the answer often repeats what review sites and Reddit threads say. If an engine describes you with an old complaint or recommends a competitor, that shapes the shortlist. MentionRadar runs your tracked prompts weekly and shows exactly what each engine said.

How fast will I hear about a negative mention?

New web mentions are collected every 15 minutes on paid plans. Negative or high reach mentions trigger an instant email, and Growth adds Slack alerts and custom rules on sentiment, reach, source and keyword. Everything else arrives in a daily digest.

Does it work for agencies managing several clients?

Yes. The Agency plan includes 15 client workspaces, a per-client AI visibility score, white-label PDF reports and read-only access for clients. Each client gets its own keywords, competitors and alert rules.

How much does reputation monitoring software cost here?

Starter is $24 a month billed yearly ($288 a year) or $49 month to month, with 3 keywords and 5,000 mentions a month. Growth is $74 a month yearly with Slack alerts and custom rules. Prices for every plan are public on the pricing page.
