Brandwatch pricing is not published. Every plan is quoted by sales, and buyer data from Vendr puts the median Brandwatch contract at $50,000 a year, with a range of roughly $19,500 to $81,200 across 40 purchases. If that is far above your budget, the realistic Brandwatch alternatives are Meltwater (also quote only, usually cheaper), Brand24 (from $199 a month billed yearly) and MentionRadar (from $49 a month, with AI answer tracking included).

Brandwatch is one of the strongest consumer research platforms on the market, and for a global brand with an insights team it earns its price. Most people who search for the price are in a different spot. They need to monitor a brand and a few competitors, someone suggested Brandwatch, and the website offers a demo form where the number should be. This page gives you the numbers that exist, what pushes a quote up or down, and what the same job costs with tools that publish their prices. Figures were checked in October 2026 and they change, so confirm before you sign anything.

How much does Brandwatch cost?

Brandwatch sells three product lines (Consumer Intelligence, Social Media Management and Influencer Marketing), each in standard to enterprise plans, and none has a public price. You fill in a form with your company, country and job level, and a rep schedules a demo. The only hard data comes from procurement platforms that see signed contracts.

Treat the table as a range for planning, not a quote. Forty contracts is a small sample and it leans toward companies large enough to use a procurement service. You will see lower "starting from" figures on software directories, but they rarely match what a rep sends after discovery, so the contract data is the safer anchor for a budget.

What drives a Brandwatch quote up or down

Sales-led pricing means the quote is built around your answers on the discovery call. Four things tend to matter most.

  • Which product you buy. Consumer Intelligence (the listening and research product) is priced separately from Social Media Management and Influencer Marketing. Bundles cost more, though the second product is usually where discounts appear.
  • Data volume. Listening platforms at this level price on how many mentions your queries collect and how far back you need historical data. A consumer brand with millions of mentions pays for that volume.
  • Seats and workspaces. Analyst seats, read-only viewers and separate brand or region workspaces each add to the total.
  • Contract length. Expect annual terms. Multi-year commitments lower the yearly figure and raise the cost of changing your mind.

Before the call, write down your number of brands and competitors, a rough monthly mention count if you have one, and how many people need to log in. A buyer who arrives with those three numbers gets a tighter quote and a shorter sales cycle.

Is Brandwatch worth the money?

Brandwatch is worth it when research is the job. If your team segments audiences, studies category trends across years of social data, analyzes images and builds custom dashboards for several markets, the depth is hard to find elsewhere, and $50,000 is small next to the research budget it replaces.

It is hard to justify when the job is monitoring. Knowing when your brand is mentioned, whether the tone is positive, how you compare with three competitors, and getting an alert when something negative gains reach: that is a solved problem at a few hundred dollars a month. Paying a research platform price for it is like leasing a truck to carry groceries.

Brandwatch alternatives compared

The four options below cover most shortlists, from enterprise suites to monthly plans. Prices for the two quote-only vendors are buyer data, not list prices.

A few notes on reading it. Meltwater is the usual second quote when a company evaluates Brandwatch, and the buyer data suggests it lands at about half the price. We go through those numbers in detail in Meltwater pricing and alternatives. Brand24 is the best known self-serve listening tool, and its plan limits are covered in Brand24 pricing and alternatives.

MentionRadar is ours, so weigh this with that in mind. It collects public mentions from news sites, blogs, forums, Reddit, Hacker News, review sites, YouTube and X, scores sentiment on each one, and runs your buyer questions weekly in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, plus Gemini and Claude from the Growth plan. It does not cover Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, it has no image analysis and no multi-year historical archive. For those, Brandwatch is the better tool.

What is a cheaper alternative to Brandwatch?

The cheapest serious alternative to Brandwatch for brand monitoring is a self-serve listening tool with public pricing. MentionRadar Growth costs $149 a month, or $888 for a year billed yearly, and covers 10 keywords, 30,000 mentions a month, five seats, Slack alerts and scheduled PDF reports. That is under 2 percent of the median Brandwatch contract.

What you get for that is the monitoring layer: a live feed with sentiment, competitor comparison through the share of voice tool, alerts, and reports. What you give up is the research layer. A fair way to decide is to list the five questions your team asked of social data last quarter. If they were "what are people saying about us and our rivals this week", social listening tools in the self-serve range answer them. If they were "how has sentiment toward our category shifted among parents under 35 since 2022", you need Brandwatch or something like it.

How to pressure-test a Brandwatch quote

If Brandwatch is still on the shortlist, a few steps protect the budget.

  1. Get a second quote. Meltwater and Brandwatch compete for the same deals, and a real competing offer is the strongest lever you have. Vendr's data shows a 15 percent average saving for buyers who negotiate.
  2. Price the monitoring-only scenario. Run a self-serve tool for a month on your real keywords. You will learn your true mention volume, which is the number the quote hinges on, and you may find the monitoring need is already met.
  3. Ask what happens at the cap. Find out whether collection stops or overage fees apply when a campaign or a crisis pushes you past the mention limit.
  4. Read the renewal clause. Check the notice period and whether the contract renews automatically, and put the date in the calendar the day you sign.
  5. Count active users after 90 days. Seats that nobody logs into are the easiest line to cut at renewal. Finance teams that review software this way often use a tool that tracks cloud and SaaS spend across every subscription, and a listening contract of this size deserves the same scrutiny.

Which option fits which team

Global consumer brand with an insights function. Brandwatch. The archive, the segmentation and the image analysis are what you are paying for, and you will use them.

Communications team that pitches media. Meltwater or Cision (see what Cision costs), because monitoring is only half of the job and the journalist database is the other half.

Consumer brand under $10,000 a year. Brand24, mainly for its Instagram, Facebook and TikTok coverage.

B2B or SaaS company, or an agency reporting to clients. MentionRadar. Your buyers talk on Reddit, review sites, forums and industry blogs, and a growing share of them ask an AI assistant which vendor to pick. Tracking both in one place is the point of the product, and the AI visibility tracker shows which pages each engine cites when it recommends a competitor instead of you. Agencies get 15 client workspaces and white-label reports on the $499 plan. Full limits are on the pricing page.

Whichever way you lean, spend ten minutes with real data first. The scan at the top of this page takes a brand name and one competitor and returns recent mentions and a live AI answer, with no account needed.

Does Brandwatch have a free trial?

Brandwatch does not offer a self-serve free trial on its website. The route in is a demo scheduled through a form that asks for your company, country and job level. Self-serve alternatives let you see data sooner: Brand24 has a 14 day trial and MentionRadar runs a one-time brand scan without an account.

Why does Brandwatch not show prices?

Brandwatch sells to large organizations through a sales team, and each quote depends on the product line, data volume, seats and contract length. Publishing a single price would not reflect that. The downside for smaller buyers is that you cannot tell whether you are in range before investing time in calls.

Is Brandwatch owned by Cision?

Yes. Brandwatch is part of Cision, the PR software company, and its terms and conditions are published on Cision's site. Cision's own platform focuses on media databases and press distribution, while Brandwatch covers consumer intelligence and social media management.

How much does Brandwatch cost per month?

There is no monthly plan to quote. Using Vendr's contract data, the median Brandwatch buyer pays $50,000 a year, which works out to about $4,170 a month, with a range from about $1,630 to $6,770 a month. Contracts are annual, so you commit to the full year.

What is the best Brandwatch alternative for a small business?

For a small business that needs brand and competitor monitoring, a self-serve tool is the practical choice. MentionRadar starts at $49 a month for 3 keywords, 3 competitors and 5,000 mentions, with ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews tracking included. Brand24 starts at $199 a month billed yearly and adds Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
