Mention Pricing and Mention Alternatives Compared
Check what AI engines and the web say about your brand
Mention pricing in October 2026 starts at $599 a month on a yearly contract for the Company plan, the only plan Mention sells to new customers. The old self-serve plans (Solo, Pro and Pro Plus, which ran $49 to $179 a month) closed to new signups in July 2025. Historical data, white-label reports and API access cost extra. Teams that liked Mention at $49 to $179 now usually compare it with MentionRadar, Mentionlytics and Awario.
Mention was the tool a lot of small marketing teams started with: set an alert, get a clean feed of web and social mentions, export a report. Two things changed in the last eighteen months. Agorapulse bought the company in 2025, and the product moved upmarket to a single contract plan. Then on January 30, 2026, Mention retired its Publish and Respond features and pointed those users to Agorapulse. If you are on a legacy plan, or you just got a quote, this page lays out what Mention costs now and what you can buy instead.
How much does Mention cost?
Mention costs from $599 a month for the Company plan, billed on a yearly contract, according to Mention's own help center. The public pricing page lists the Company plan without printing a figure and offers a trial button. Several third-party trackers report the same plan with 5 alerts, 50,000 mentions a month and unlimited users, but Mention says to confirm limits with an account manager.
| Mention plan | Price | Who can buy it | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company | From $599 a month, yearly contract | New and existing customers | Web and social monitoring, Boolean alerts, sentiment, share of voice, reports and dashboards, team roles, account manager |
| Historical data | Paid add-on, quote | Company customers | Older mentions before the alert was created |
| White-label reports and API | Paid add-ons, quote | Company customers | Branded reports for clients and programmatic access |
| Solo, Pro, Pro Plus (legacy) | About $49, $99 and $179 a month | Existing customers only, no plan changes | The original self-serve limits |
The practical effect is a floor of roughly $7,200 a year before add-ons. For a team that used Pro at $99 a month, that is about six times the old bill for the same daily job.
Can I still buy the Mention Solo or Pro plan?
No. Mention stopped selling Solo, Pro and Pro Plus to new customers in July 2025. Existing subscribers keep their plan, but Mention's help center says they cannot change it, so adding alerts or seats means moving to the Company plan. If your legacy plan works today, there is no need to rush. Plan the switch before you need more volume, not after.
What happened to Mention Publish and Respond?
Mention removed Publish and Respond on January 30, 2026. Those features let you schedule posts and reply to social comments from the Mention dashboard. Agorapulse, which now owns Mention, is the recommended replacement for publishing and engagement. Mention itself is now a monitoring product. If your team relied on Publish to turn one post into versions for every social channel, you now need a separate tool for that job, so budget for it when you compare prices.
Mention alternatives with public prices
The useful comparison for a former Mention customer is a tool you can buy online at a three digit monthly price, that covers web mentions, sentiment and alerts, and ideally tells you what AI assistants say about your brand. Mention's pricing page does not mention ChatGPT or AI answer tracking at all. All prices below come from each vendor's pricing page in October 2026.
| Tool | Entry price | Entry limits | AI answer tracking | Facebook, Instagram, TikTok |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mention | From $599 a month, yearly | Confirm with sales | Not listed | Yes |
| MentionRadar | $49 a month, half off yearly | 3 keywords, 5,000 mentions, 1 seat | Included, 15 prompts weekly | No |
| Mentionlytics | $69 a month, $49 yearly | 3 keyword rules, 5,000 mentions, 2 users | Paid add-on from the $169 plan | Yes |
| Awario | 49 euros a month, 29 yearly | 3 topics, 30,000 mentions, 1 member | Not listed | Yes |
| Brand24 | $199 a month billed yearly | 3 keywords, 1 user | Add-on, bundled only into Enterprise | Yes |
MentionRadar
MentionRadar watches news, blogs, forums, review sites, Reddit, Hacker News, YouTube and X, and in the same plan runs your buyer prompts every week in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, adding Gemini and Claude from Growth. Starter is $49 a month and Growth is $149 with 10 keywords, 30,000 mentions, 5 seats and Slack alerts. What it does not do: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, print or broadcast. The social listening tools page shows the full source list.
Mentionlytics
Mentionlytics is the closest match to old Mention on social coverage, with owned social profiles in the dashboard and a 14 day trial with no card. It is a good pick when Facebook and Instagram carry your conversation. AI Visibility costs extra and is quoted by sales. Every plan is broken down on our Mentionlytics pricing and alternatives page.
Awario and Brand24
Awario is the budget option with a generous mention allowance and white-label reports on every plan; the details are in our Awario pricing breakdown. Brand24 costs more at the entry level but adds TikTok and podcast coverage, covered in the Brand24 pricing comparison.
Is Mention worth $599 a month?
Mention is worth $599 a month if you need unlimited users, broad social coverage including Facebook and Instagram, and an account manager, and your team monitors a handful of alerts at high volume. It is hard to justify for one brand and two competitors, where self-serve tools at $49 to $199 a month cover the same feed and add features Mention lacks, such as AI answer tracking.
Look at what your team opens every morning. If it is a mentions feed, a negative sentiment filter, an alert when something spikes and a monthly PDF for leadership, the Company plan is paying for capacity you do not use. If it is a shared inbox for dozens of people across many markets, the unlimited seats start to earn their keep.
What is the best alternative to Mention for a small business?
For a small US business that wants web mentions plus AI answers, MentionRadar Starter at $49 a month is the closest replacement for the old Mention Solo plan, with AI tracking included. If Instagram and Facebook comments are the main source of conversation, Mentionlytics Basic at $69 a month, or $49 billed yearly, fits better because it reads those networks.
A quick way to decide is to run a real check rather than read feature lists. The scan box at the top of this page takes your brand and one competitor and returns recent web mentions plus a live AI answer in about a minute. If the sources you care about show up, you have your answer. If the conversation you need is on Instagram, you have that answer too.
How to move from Mention without losing coverage
- Copy each alert's query. Mention alerts support Boolean queries up to 2,000 characters. Save the brand terms, product names, competitors and exclusions from each one before your plan ends.
- Export the mentions you need to keep. If you rely on last year's numbers for reporting, export them now. History beyond what you export would be a paid add-on at Mention and is not carried into a new tool.
- Run the new tool alongside for two weeks. Compare which sources show up in each feed. Most teams find the web, review and Reddit coverage they actually act on within the first few days.
- Add what Mention did not cover. Write the five to fifteen questions buyers ask an AI assistant in your category, such as best accounting firm for startups in Austin, and track them weekly. The AI visibility tracker shows where you appear, where a competitor replaces you and which pages the engine cites.
- Rebuild alerts and the monthly report. Recreate only the alert rules someone acts on, schedule the leadership report, then cancel before your renewal notice date.
